WESTBROOK, Maine — The 2024 season rolls on for the Providence Grays (3-3), who next take on the Dirigo BBC of Maine in a trip up north today for an 1864/65 doubleheader. It’s the fourth weekend of the season for the Rhode Islanders after splitting the first three doubleheaders of the campaign.

Providence’s most recent foray was against the Portsmouth (N.H.) Rockinghams of the Essex Base Ball Association last Saturday, May 4, as part of a celebration of the 150th anniversary of the town of Rockland, Massachusetts. In the second-ever meeting between the two clubs, Portsmouth took game one 14-11 and the Grays rebounded with a 37-15 triumph in the second in an entertaining day of base ball.
