Grays Celebrate 25 Years of Resolutes Base Ball This Weekend
The Providence Grays, winners of four of their last six,
conclude the month of June and surpass 20 games in 2024 this weekend (June
29-30) at the Elizabeth Resolutes 25th Anniversary Festival and Paul
Salomone History Day in Rahway, N.J.
Last time out, the Grays split a doubleheader with the
Lisbon Tunnelmen at the Bristol (R.I.) Town Common on June 15. It was an
entertaining day of base ball for the Bristol Fourth of July Committee Event,
as Lisbon took game one 9-6 (1864) and Providence won via walk off, 10-9, in an
1865-rules game two.
The Grays enter the weekend at 8-10 on the season, carrying
recent momentum into New Jersey as they look to break .500. Providence will
take on the host Resolutes at 10 a.m. on Saturday, followed by a showdown with
the Bovina (N.Y.) Dairymen at 2 p.m. Both games will be contested by the rules
of 1870.
On Sunday, the Rhode Islanders play a pair of 1864 matches
against the Flemington (N.J.) Neshanock (10 a.m.) and Eclipse BBC of Elkton,
Maryland (12 p.m.) to round out the festival.

Grays’ Facebook and Instagram pages.
