Providence Starts Home Stretch with Dirigo Rematch

WARWICK NECK, R.I. -- The final stretch of the 2024 season begins for the Providence Grays on Saturday, September 14, against the Dirigo Base Ball Club of Maine at Ferullo Field in Woburn, Mass. The Grays enter the doubleheader with a 19-18-1 record after dropping two games to the Connecticut Base Ball Club on August 24 at Wethersfield Cove.

Tomorrow's pair of matches will be the third and fourth between Providence and Dirigo this season, as the hosts won a pair when the Grays traveled to Westbrook, Maine, in May. That was part of a slow start for Providence in 2024, but they turned it around since and had lost just one of the last nine before facing Connecticut.

It will be the Grays' first outing of September with 10 games remaining in the season. Dirigo are familiar foes, with the 1864/65 twin bill marking the 10th and 11th meetings between the sides since 2018. Ferullo Field is in the heart of Woburn at 880 Main Street with first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m.
